The USB keyboard light is just that - a USB keyboard light.

This is a product designed to light your laptop computer's keyboard, using any free USB port on that computer to power itself.

It has a metal gooseneck which is flexible so you can direct (aim) the light anywhere you need it.

 SIZE

To use the USB keyboard light, just plug it into any unused USB port on your computer, and aim it where you want using the flexible gooseneck shaft on it. Yes, it really is as easy as that.

Since this product draws the power it needs directly from the USB port it plugs into, I don't have to tell you about any battery changing procedures.

This product is "hot swappable", meaning you don't have to power down the computer before plugging in or unplugging this device. This is fairly typical of USB devices, so no surprise there.

The USB keyboard light is designed to be a computer peripheral, not as a flashlight meant to be carried around, thrashed, and abused, so I won't try to stomp on it with spiked golf shoes, drown it in the commode, slam it against the corner of a concrete stair or against a steel rod, run over it with a 400lb electric wheelchair, let my housemate's kitty cat's ghost go potty on it, or subject it to any other indecencies that a regular flashlight may have to endure.

Despite its delicate appearance, the USB keyboard light seems to be reasonably durable and well-made.

In my opinion, the beam appears to be too narrow to make an effective keyboard light. But any time you need a bit of light around a dark computer, it will definitely produce that light. So if it has a saving grace, that would be it.
I realise that opinions hold little water though, so you may find its light output excellent for lighting a keyboard; this is just my 2¢.

The position of the USB port(s) will vary, depending on what brand of laptop you have.
The laptop computer in this photograph is a Toshiba Satellite Pro model number 460CDT.

Having the light curved around the side of the screen ensures maximum coverage
of the keyboard, as seen in the photograph three pictures up from this one.

UPDATE: 00-00-00

PROS:
Flexible neck allows you to direct the light anywhere you need it
Metal gooseneck makes the product sturdier than other keyboard lights
Draws all power it needs from computer's USB port - never have to buy batteries
LED light source should have a very long life

CONS:
LED beam may be too narrow to illuminate a computer keyboard - personal opinion though
This is what knocked that last star off and prevented it from being rated a 5-star product.
