OMEGA AIRSPORT GUN W/
LED & LASER SIGHT

Omega Airsport Gun w/ LED & Laser Sight, retail $8.49

I purchased this ***SPECIFICALLY*** so that I could demonstrate what is called a "combat grip" with tactical-style flashlights - SureFire flashlights to be specific. This gun does not fire actual bullets - just plastic BBs. But since it has a laser & blue LED "sight", I figured that it belonged on this website.

I'm not a gun expert, and I don't play one on TV or on the internet.
So I'll leave the actual use of the gun portion of this product to somebody else, and just test/explain the LED & Laser sight itself.

 SIZE

To use the sight, slide the switch on the right-hand side of the product's body (as it is mounted to the gun) forward.

Slide the switch toward you (as the gun is aimed forward of course) to turn it off.

On the right-hand side of the product's body (just below the switch), there is a battery door. Gently pull back on the little latch on one end, lift the door off, tape it to a target, and riddle it full of bullets...O WAIT!!! YOU'LL NEED THAT!!! So just set it aside instead.

Gently tap the open side of the sight on a fairly hard surface (a wooden surface like a desktop or the bench at a shooting range should suffice here) so that the three used L1130 button cells fall out. Gather them up, and dispose of or recycle them as you see fit.

Insert three new L1130 button cells into the chamber, orienting each cell so that it's flat end (+) positive faces the spring in the chamber.

Finally, place the battery door back on.
Aren't you glad you didn't shoot that battery door now?

This is a laser sight for the included BB gun, not a flashlight meant to be thrashed and abused, so I won't throw it against the wall, stomp on it, try to drown it in the {vulgar term for feces}bowl or the cistern, run over it, swing it against the concrete floor of a patio, bash it open to check it for candiosity, fire it from the cannonada (I guess I've been watching the TV program "Viva Piņata" too much again - candiosity is usually checked with a scanner-type device on a platform with a large readout, with a handheld wand that Langston Lickatoad uses, or with a pack-of-cards-sized device that Fergy Fudgehog uses; and the cannonada is only used to shoot piņatas to piņata parties away from picturesque Piņata Island), send it to the Daystrom Institute for additional analysis, or inflict upon it punishments that I might inflict upon a flashlight. I generally don't punish lasers or most other products which lase. So this section of their web page will be rather bare, when compared to this section of the web page on a page about a flashlight.

***EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!!***
This laser is a CDRH Class IIIb instrument; so you definitely do not want to shine it into your eyes, other people's eyes, pets' eyes, for that matter, the eyes of any person or animal you encounter. Eye damage can occur faster than the blink reflex can protect them, regardless of what species' eyes you irradiate with this laser. So just don't do it.
And fer chrissakes (and for heaven sakes and for Pete sakes and your sakes too) do not aim this gun (with or without laser) at any vehicle, whether ground-based like a motorcycle, car, or truck, or air-based like a helicopter, airplane, or jet. And if you shoot it at a person in the dark and he turns out to be a police officer, he may think he's being targeted, unholster (pull out) his (REAL) gun, and hose you down with it.

As a laser sighting device, this product is horribly inaccurate, and is probably there only for cosmetic purposes.
It aims down and considerably to the right of where it *SHOULD* aim.

Out of the three gun/sight combinations I received (I only needed one, but these were only sold in larger lots), the laser does not function at all in one, and the lasers in the other two are horribly inaccurate.

***ALSO EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!!***
Even though this gun only shoots plastic BBs, you can get into BIG TROUBLE if this "gun" is used while comitting a crime!!!
The legal system will treat it as an actual firearm; inflating such charges as robbery and assault to armed robbery and armed assault!!!

Beam photograph on the test target at 12".
LED intensity measures 9,230mcd, and laser power measures 6.29mW.

Photograph showing how the laser sight is grossly misaligned - it is aparently there for cosmetic purposes only.
The laser spot *SHOULD* be directly under the "E" in the EXERION marquee in this photograph.
