I received four sets of 2004 Forever Bright LED light strings today (08-04-04). These are evaluation sets, and do not come with the "mix and match" lenses like you see on the light sets on this page. You can buy them in solid colors, mixed color sets, and various color combinations, but the lenses on each individual set must all be one type.

This photograph shows the 5-color set with the G50 frosty covering, and shows the set illuminated.
The orange is a true orange, and the green is a true green - not yellow-green.

All photographs of these sets were taken in low-level ambient lighting: the first four taken with photoflash and the second four with the sets energised and without photoflash.
Since it is early August, I do not yet have the Christmas tree up to test-hang these sets on.

Again, the lenses on each set must be all one type; no "mix and match" is available. These are evaluation sets, not something sold to the general public.


UPDATE 08-04-04:
I received these four sets of Forever Bright LED lights today, and as you can see, I'm adding them to the page now.

UPDATE 12-04-04:
I got two of the Forever Bright sets hung up and plugged in on 11-27-04, and noticed that one of the "bulbs" was out on 12-02-04. But today, I looked at the "burned out" lamp, and noticed it's on again. So I guess the moral of this story is that when a lamp goes out, it is not always "Forever Dark".


UPDATE 12-05-04:
I noticed the same lamp was out again this morning, but when I just now looked down toward the plug, the lamp was back on. So I guess you could call it "intermittent", not "it's dead Jim".


UPDATE 12-13-04:
I purchased two more sets of Forever Brights on Ebay yesterday; I'll update this web page again when I receive them.


UPDATE 12-25-04:
The light sets came on 12-21-04; sorry for the delay here. These sets are probably 2003 Forever Brights, and yes, they still work fine thankyouverymuch!


UPDATE 11-02-05:
I purchased a set of 100 lights with C6-style faceted "bulbs" around each LED in late-October 2005. This set comes with lamp colors of red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. The green lamps are a true-green, not that yellowish-green found in other brands of LED Christmas light sets.

Same as above, but no photoflash was used.

This set was imported for Costco stores by Holiday Creations.

Product was made in China. A product's country of origin really does matter to some people, which is why I published it on this web page.

UPDATE 12-15-06:
Here's proof that Forever Bright light sets really do tangle up in the closet as easily as ordinary incandescent light sets.


This tangled mass comprises of at least two, possibly three sets of Forever Brights.


UPDATE 01-01-07:
The year 2000 blue Forever Bright light set appears to be considerably dimmer than it used to be. I checked the set for blown "bulbs", and did not find any. All of the lamps in this set have dimmed to the same degree, not just a few.

Cheery, colorful lights include orange, true-green, blue, purple, and white
Unique "lenses" or caps over each LED
Very low power usage
UL rating for fireproof bulbs
Transformerless operation
Sets can be connected end-to-end
Compatible with your existing miniature light sets
Lamps appear to have a bit more "sparkle" than others
They can be used both indoors and out
Impressive warranty.


CONS:
Not as bright as traditional incandescent
They will tangle up just as easily in the closet as ordinary strings.
