Custom-Made LED Sign, retail $242.99* (www.brightledsigns.com...)
Manufactured by Bright LED Signs (www.brightledsigns.com)
Last updated 06-09-12

This is an LED "LED MUSEUM" sign, designed to be hung or mounted in an indoor location to bring attention to a specific website -- actually, this is a custom made sign made just for me and my website. Signs that you can readily obtain from the Bright LED Signs website range from simple "OPEN" signs to rather elaborate, multicolored signs telling your customers not only the status of your business (open or not), but also what your business does -- such as serving espresso, serving meals, grooming pets, etc.

It has 274 8mm diffused LEDs (142 yellow and 132 blue).

* Price will vary somewhat considerably depending on the actual product (and for custom-made signs) the number of letters.

Size of product w/hand to show scale SIZE

Plug the cord from the AC "brick"-type power supply into the female receptacle for it on the upper surface of the sign, plug the "pigtail" AC cord into the female receptacle in the power supply itself, and plug the other end of this short "pigtail" into any standard (in the United States & Canada anyway) 110 to 130 volts AC 60Hz 2- or 3-slot power receptacle.

On the lower portion of the sign, there is a short pull chain "on/off" switch. Pull down on this chain until it clicks and then let it back up to turn the sign on.
Pull it again to have the upper word ("LED" in this case) flash at a rate of approx. 0.75Hz (1 flash every 1.5 seconds).
Do the very same thing again to turn the sign off.

Hang (with the included chains) or mount the sign so it will be readily visible to customers outside your store so that they can see if you are indeed open for business.

The sign has "keyhole" slots in the back that allow you to hang it on a wall with no chains; these slots are designed to accomodate the heads of wood screws. Screw in the screws (two of them) until their heads are approximately ¼" (or even a little less) from being flush with the wall; the sign can then be hung from the keyhole slots onto those screws.

This is an electric "LED MUSEUM" sign, not a flashlight meant to be carried around, thrashed, trashed, and abused. So I won't throw it against the wall, stomp on it, try to drown it in the water closet or the cistern, run over it, swing it against the concrete floor of a patio, bash it open to check it for candiosity, fire it from the cannoñata (I guess I've been watching the TV program "Viva Piñata" too much again - candiosity is usually checked with a laser-type device on a platform with a large readout or with a handheld wand used by Langston Lickatoad), send it to the Daystrom Institute for additional analysis, or inflict upon it punishments that flashlights may have inflicted upon them.
So this section of its web page will be rather bare, when compared to this section of the web page on a page about a flashlight.

This sign is intended for indoor installation only; it does not appear to be very weather-resistant, and it's level of water-resistance is rather minimal. This is not a negative of any type; it's simply how the sign was intended to be used.

Measured to consume 0.25A (17W) at 120 volts AC.

Photograph of the sign, illuminated of course.

I added "***NSFYE!!!***" (Not Safe For Your Ears) to the title because not everybody who watches R/C helicopter vidz here is a metalhead and would appreciate Anthrax zax.

Those colorful moving things on the far wall are from the and those colorful moving things on the far wall are from my http://www.ledmuseum.candlepower.us/34/reke.htm, and the "LED MUSEUM" sign clearly visible is this one (which is why it's on this web page).

Video content is similar to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtEAUw1UrHU but with zax that isn't metal to appease those who enjoy watching R/C heli vidz on Youtube but do not want the earwhipping I normally provide as a "pubic" service. ;-)

TEST NOTES:
Test unit was sent by K.S. of Bright LED Signs and was received at 8:29pm PDT on 08-15-11 (or "15 Aug 2011" or even "Aug. 15, Twenty Double Sticks" if you prefer).

This is the latest I've ever received a delivery of any type -- this even beat out the Wearable Pocket Plasma rather handily to take over the honour.

The power supply "brick" is labelled to have an output of +12 volts at 2 amps.

UPDATE: 00-00-00
