Last updated 07-13-12

Mediocre (OK, but not excellent) flights of the 3CH. R/C Hughes Defender Coaxial Helicopter. It was simply too windy to fly this bird properly, so I had to abort all three flights prematurely and never let it gain a whole lot of altitude. Flights were made at Celebration Park in Federal Way WA. USA on the morning of 07-11-12 (or "11 Jul. 2012" or even "Jul. 11, Twenty Stick-Very-Twirly-Stick" if you prefer. Temperature at flight time was 71°F (21.7°C).

This video is approximately 9.38854567279 megabytes (9,574,169 bytes) in length; dial-up users please be aware.
It will take no less than forty six minutes to load at 48.0Kbps.

This video shows a pair of totally excellent flights of the 3CH. R/C Defender Coaxial Helicopter after I performed a very minor modification to its tail rotor in effort to prevent the heli from "throwing" its tail rotor. Needless to say, the modification was absolutely, positively, 100% successful. The flights were made on the morning of 05-26-12; temperature at flight time was 69°F (20.56°C).

It was a bit too windy; e.g., I had trouble flying to port (from right to left), but it was just too easy to fly to starboard (left to right).

That music you hear is the song, "Get It Hot" by...o cummon, you've just ***GOT*** to know this one considering that I'm a known metalhead...go ahead, take a whack at it anyway...

Brief outdoor flight of the Hughes Defender Coax R/C Heli.

You can also hear the computer from the USS Enterprise NCC-1701D on Star Trek: TNG (voiced by Majel Barrett-Roddenberry) saying, "Auto-shutdown sequence in progress. Primary power offline in ten seconds". This is an integral part of the video; and should really not be muted unless it *REALLY* torques you off.
The third song (a snippet actually; not the whole thing) is from Kraftwerk, and is called "The Voice of Energy".

This heli is not sound-sensitive; the audio may be ignored or even muted if it pisses you off.
